Ijara · Rental Property Management SaaS
An Arabic-first platform for small MENA landlords, with tenants, leases, payments, and automated WhatsApp rent reminders.
Arabic-first web + mobile
The problem
Small landlords across the MENA region run their rentals on paper, spreadsheets, and WhatsApp threads. Leases lapse unnoticed, payment history lives in chat scrollback, and chasing rent is a monthly chore. The tooling that does exist is built English-first and desktop-first, which fits neither the language nor the phone-first habits of the people who actually manage these properties.
What I built
An Arabic-first platform, designed right-to-left rather than translated into it, spanning a Vue.js web app and a React Native mobile client over a shared Laravel and PostgreSQL backend. It covers the full tenancy lifecycle: tenant records, lease tracking with renewal dates, payment history, and landlord-facing analytics. The piece that earns its keep is automated WhatsApp rent reminders, which take the most tedious recurring task off the landlord’s plate and put it on a schedule.
The result
Built so a landlord can run an entire portfolio from a phone, in their own language, and stop being the system of record for who paid what. Rent reminders are automated rather than remembered, and the web app and the mobile client run off the same backend, so the data is one source of truth by construction instead of a spreadsheet that disagrees with a chat log.
